The Oracle Smartview Planning Admin Extension allows you to update Planning application (both Oracle PBCS and On-Premise Classic applications) metadata using Smartview. The SmartView Planning Admin Extension can be downloaded from within the Oracle EPM Workspace. Go to Tools->Install and select ‘Planning Admin Extension’. Download and install this utility.
Once the utility is installed, connect to the Planning application using Smartview. Expand the Server and then the application (‘Vision’ in this case). You will notice that you will see a new folder called ‘Dimensions. Expand this folder to see a list of dimensions from your planning application. Select a dimension, then right-click the dimension and select ‘Edit Dimension’
The dimension you selected to edit opens up in SmartView along with columns denoting the member properties, parent, child, alias and so on. You add members using the Parent-Child format. Once done, you simply click on ‘Submit Data’ to update the dimensions and then refresh the application.
